Andrés Pintaluba and Matadero Frigorífico del Cardoner are taking part in the project named “Use of meat by-products to obtain hydrolysed bioactive compounds with antimicrobial properties (biopeptides)”

Its main goal is to obtain new hydrolysed proteins with antimicrobial activity from different by-products from the meat industry. Similarly, it also aims to identify the peptides responsible for the antimicrobial effect of the hydrolysed compound with the greatest potential.

Other project collaborators include Universitat Rovira I Virgili, the Applied Microbiology Research Group from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the IRTA-CResa Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal and INNOVAC.
